Sherlock - so excited I could pee
“Sherlock” Special – second trailer transcript

For anyone struggling with the dialogue, here’s a quick transcript.

Transcript by Ariane DeVere aka Callie Sullivan. (Last updated 7 October 2015)

SHERLOCK: The stage is set; the curtain rises; we are ready to begin.
WOMAN: You promised to keep him safe. You promised!
JOHN: Well, Holmes? Surely you must have some theory.
SHERLOCK: We all have a past, Watson. Ghosts – they’re the shadows that define our every sunny day. Every great cause has martyrs; every war has suicide missions; and make no mistake – this is war.
MAN: Why are you doing this? Tell me who you are!
JOHN: What made you like this?
SHERLOCK: Oh, Watson. Nothing made me. I made me.
WOMAN [who sounds like Loo Brealey to me]: Who are you? I demand you speak! Who are you?
SHERLOCK: The name is Sherlock Holmes and the address is two hundred and twenty-one B Baker Street.
JOHN: Little use, us, standing here in the dark. After all, this is the nineteenth century.
SHERLOCK: I have to finish this.
JOHN (handing Sherlock a deerstalker hat): This one.
SHERLOCK: Why?
JOHN: You’re Sherlock Holmes. Wear the damn hat.

A transcript of the earlier trailer is here.

You're welcome, sweetie! Even I struggled with a few of the words. Either I'm getting deafer or they're mumbling worse than ever in this one.

THANK YOU! I just couldn't quite make out that line about martyrs and causes. Much appreciated! M.

It's getting closer . . . :)

Yay! I wouldn't have known there was a new trailer out if I hadn't seen that you'd updated. This is the first trailer I've been excited about in AGES. 1895? Wonderful. Thanks for bringing this to your fans' attention. (Yes, I include myself.)

Thank you, as always, for the transcript!

Not to say that there has been an ENORMOUS gap between seasons but I went off to Google Loo Brealey. So sad.

Or maybe it really is just early Alzheimer's.

Hope Molly is in the special. And that it actually appears around Christmas, as opposed to say, another 5 years from now...

Was re-watching season 1 recently and it occurred to me that Sherlock (that is to say, BC) is not supposed to have aged this much in the series. Even with the Reichenbach gap. Luckily, Benedict still appears much younger than his actual age.

And that whatever else BBC Sherlock does, it always lives up to or surpasses expectations when the shows finally arrive!! (IMHO.)

Apparently there's some doubt as to whether that was Loo speaking. However, she was seen on location for the filming, so she should hopefully be in the episode, though she probably won't have the same role because I doubt there were female morticians in Victorian times. But Molly could have a different role, I guess.

The latest rumours are that it won't air at Christmas (as in, on Christmas or Boxing Day) but we're holding out hope for New Year's Day, as is traditional for the programme.

God, I hope so. Despite the icon I chose for this page, I am totally unenthusiastic about this Victorian 'Special.' I've hated the concept ever since they started talking about it, and the trailer hasn't encouraged any more excitement in me. I'm actually dreading it - and I hate the fact that I am not excited about a new episode of my favourite show.

As someone partially deaf and not native to the English language, this was VERY MUCH appreciated - thank you!
The hair in this takes some getting used to, but hey, those were the times. I am very excited because let's face it - the time in between is waaaaaaaay too long.
